On January 28th, 2014 there was a meeting with representatives of UEF School of Forest Sciences, headed by its director Timo Tokola. It was agreed that soon the new intensive course in English will start.
The course will start on February 24th at the Faculty of Forest Engineering of Petrozavodsk State University and will include both theoretical and practical education. During the course Timo Tokola will give the deep perception of existing methods of the Earth remote sensing technologies relating to observation of forest resources,space monitoring and aerial imagery, as well as specifics of defining permanent sample territories for the observation. Timo Tokola is also planning to share experience of Finnish specialists in this sphere and will dedicate a part of his lectures to analyzing existing software which can be used in this work.
